The Craig Young Trio (with Rob Gillard and Paul Harris) skillfully delivers great country songs with a tip of the hat to some of the greatest legends of guitar.
Singer, guitarist and songwriter Craig Young hails from the southwest coast of Newfoundland and Labrador. His guitar playing career has spanned decades and countries. As a member of the Terri Clark band he relocated to Nashville Tennessee, where he was based for nearly eight years while touring extensively and performing regularly on stages such as the Grand Ole Opry and with other superstars such as Ricky Skaggs. He has won four CCMA awards in The Canadian Country Music Association All Star Band-Guitarist category for his guitar playing. His album “Back Home” won the 2011 MusicNL Country Album/Artist of the year. His album “Black Diamond Strings” won the MusicNL award for Country recording in 2013. Craig recorded “Charlie’s Boogie” with fellow guitarist Duane Andrews which won the ECMA award for instrumental album in 2014. Craig also performed and recorded with the guitar quartet Fretboard Journey, whose self-titled album won the MusicNL award for instrumental artist in 2017. These days Craig continues to perform solo and with various groups including Anchors Aweigh, Shanneyganock, Bluestar Juniper (with Andrea Monroe) and of course The Craig Young Trio.
